The Power of a Glance
You Can Have Alluring Eyes Again

Have your eyes lost the power to fascinate? Get your groove back. With a simple procedure we can take puffy, baggy, tired eyes and restore their youthful allure.

Reports from our patients usually go something like this...
“What a relief! I’d always had beautiful eyes. Getting my beautiful eyes back raised my spirits enormously.”

What Eyelid Surgery Will Do:

  • Remove excess skin and/or fat in both eyelids.
  • Give you is a more wide-awake, rested appearance
  • Widen peripheral vision
  • In some cases resolve “eye strain”

What It Won't Do:

This procedure won’t remove “crow’s feet,” lift sagging eyebrows, or necessarily remove dark circles under the eyes (though it may!).  We have other procedures and treatments for those problems: Botox, brow lifts, and Obagi skin care can help.

Upper Lids, Under the Eyes, or Both

Some people only need the area underneath their eyes improved. Others only need help with upper lids, and some need help in both areas. During your consultation, we can design a plan that addresses all of your concerns.

The Surgery

Every procedure has risks, but overall this is a very light, minor procedure. It usually takes about 30-90 minutes and is done in our on-site certified surgery center. Often it is performed under local anesthesia with sedation (twilight sleep), or, if you prefer, you can be completely asleep.

The procedure is typically painless, although you may have occasional mild discomfort.

You will likely be allowed to leave our surgical facility shortly after surgery. Most often, bandages are not required. You won’t be allowed to drive yourself home, so arrange to have a family member or friend come with you.

After the Surgery:

  • Expect swelling and some bruising.
  • If you use blood-thinners like aspirin or Coumadin you will have to stop these in advance of surgery.
  • Your eyes may feel tight and sore, especially the first week after surgery
  • Apply ice packs for the first 2 days post-op
  • You may require oral pain medications for the first few days
  • If your eyes become dry and somewhat irritated, apply lubricating tears or lubricating ophthalmic ointment.

Home Care
  • Apply ice packs for the first 2 days post-op
  • You may require oral pain medications for the first few days
  • If your eyes become dry and somewhat irritated, apply lubricating tears or lubricating ophthalmic ointment.

The Healing Process

  • Swelling and bruising improve within 3-14 days.
  • Stitches will be removed in 4 to 6 days.
  • Contact lenses may be worn in 7-14 days.
  • Glasses may be worn immediately.
  • Eye make-up may be worn in 7-10 days.
  • You will be presentable in public in 3-14 days with the help of make-up.
  • Before 2 weeks post-op you will begin to see aesthetic results.

Final Results Take Time
Your most impressive results will appear after 6 months, with the incision lines fading from a slightly pink color to nearly invisible thin white lines.

You’ll Thank Yourself
Most people’s results will be dramatic, restoring a more youthful appearance to the entire face.

This is one of the procedures we do that always gets raves – patient satisfaction is virtually guaranteed when it comes to eyelid surgery. The results will last for many years, possibly for the rest of your life.
